记者: 您与中国结下了不解之缘,有哪些独特的故事可以分享?

阿部亘:我的祖父是一位数学老师,但他对中国文化中“无”的思想及印度文化中“空”的思想有着极为强烈的兴趣。

记者:您如何看待中国传统文化,又是如何将研究汉语语言文化这一工作转变为终身奋斗的个人事业?

阿部亘:因为高中时代的经历,我对中国的士大夫文化抱有感恩之心,也更有研究兴趣。当然,无论是当今的中国还是日本,士大夫这个群体已不存在。并且,即使从过去的文化传统中学习到什么,其意义也应该与以前截然不同。

记者:您认为如今的中日文化交流有哪些不足,对此您有何意见或建议?

阿部亘:统计结果表明,中国高速发展的这几十年,也正是日本人对中国文化渐渐失去兴趣的时期。中日邦交正常化后,中日双方的注意力都集中到政治经济的交往上,对于自身文化源流的朴素憧憬和敬意却在急剧减退。

记者:就您个人的研究工作而言,您认为目前工作的难点是什么?

阿部亘:在日本,大学的研究环境每况愈下。据统计,日本论文的写作数量与被引用数量在大幅减少。这对人文科学的影响尤为强烈,很多研究者没有稳定的研究据点。而对中国文化的研究,因为一直有一定的中文学习者,才得以勉强支撑。有志于研究中国的日本学者数量在减少,一些有中国学传统的研究室几乎被中国留学生占满。

记者:在国际上推广中国图书,您认为当下这方面还存在着哪些问题?对于此问题的解决您有何建议?

阿部亘:我觉得在推广中国图书时,需要考虑如何获得受众。翻译、出版是值得仔细研究的问题,但是如何获得读者更是重中之重。

记者:您认为如何进一步推动中国文化“走出去” 的关键是什么?中国文化的推广对日本有何重要意义?

阿部亘:中国不仅注重经济和政治的发展,也把文化作为重大的外交课题, 对此我表示由衷的敬意。
